A tour of these landmarks gives you a firsthand glimpse into the grandeur of Egyptian civilization: the royal tombs, the splendor of the architecture and inscriptions at Hatshepsut’s Temple, and a pleasant finish with the Nile.

Trip plan

We’ll pick you up from your hotel, boat, or train station, then head to the East Bank, where you’ll find the famous cemetery.

Our first stop will be the Valley of the Kings, a massive necropolis with more than 60 rock-cut tombs. The first king to be buried here was Thutmose I, making it a shrine for important kings such as Tutankhamun, Ramses II, Ramses III, and Set I. During the visit, we’ll see their most magnificent tombs.

After leaving the Valley of the Kings, we’ll head to the Valley of the Queens, where you’ll find the tombs of princesses and wives of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom. Among the tombs you can visit is the tomb of Nefertari, the favorite wife of Ramses II (entrance fee not included).

Our next stop will be the Temple of Hatshepsut. One of the creations of the architect Senmut, this unique temple is composed of rock-cut and terraced sections.

Returning to Luxor, we’ll make a final stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two giant stone statues depicting Pharaoh Amenhotep III at rest, the Nile, and the sunrise. Then, we’ll return to the starting point.
