Discover the atmosphere of Fatimid Cairo through a tour of the historic streets and unique Islamic landmarks.

Trip plan

We will pick you up from your hotel in Citadel Square, in the heart of historic Cairo. Our first stop will be the Al-Rifai Mosque, also known as the Royal Mosque, a modern mosque dating back to the 19th century.

In the same neighborhood, you’ll also find the Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrasa, built in 1361. These monuments are considered among the most magnificent buildings constructed during the Mamluk period, the era of Ottoman splendor in Egypt.

Our next visit will be to the Ibn Tulun Mosque, the largest and oldest mosque in the city, built between 876 and 879 in the old city of Al-Qata’i, under the patronage of Ahmad ibn Tulun.

After exploring the mosques, we will head to a restaurant offering a menu that includes various salads, a main course (beef, fish, or chicken), rice, pasta, and vegetables, as well as a selection of desserts and fruits.

We then visit the Gayer-Anderson Museum and walk along the famous city walls, the street that houses the most monuments from that era worldwide. Return to your hotel.
