Get ready for an unforgettable historical adventure with a trip to the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo on the banks of the Nile!
Your trip begins with an air-conditioned vehicle ride from your hotel, then sets off through the enchanting Nile Valley as you marvel at the unique natural and desert landscapes of Upper Egypt.
The journey from Aswan takes about an hour, and then you’ll reach the first stop, the Temple of Kom Ombo. The city houses the ruins of a unique Egyptian temple, distinguished by its dual temple dedicated to two different gods: Sobek and Horus. The halls, courts, and shrines in this sacred complex are almost identical. The stone structures, over 2,000 years old, are decorated with mysterious hieroglyphs… Will you be able to decipher them?
A five-minute walk from the temple, you’ll reach another unusual site: the Crocodile Museum. While admiring these mummified reptiles dating back thousands of years, you’ll discover why these crustaceans were so revered in ancient Egypt.
After a well-deserved lunch break at a local restaurant in Kom Ombo, you’ll embark on the next part of the tour.
Upon arrival in Edfu, a city located on the banks of the Nile, roughly halfway between Aswan and Luxor, you’ll visit the Temple of Horus. This falcon-headed god was one of the most important deities in ancient Egyptian history. At the end of an exciting day, you will return to your hotel in Aswan.
