You can go on a comprehensive tour of many of Aswan’s historical sights on a comprehensive tour that combines the Aswan Dam, Philae Temple, and the Unfinished Obelisk.
After being picked up from your hotel or boat, you’ll depart the historic center and head to the Aswan Dam, one of the largest dams of the 20th century. Completed in 1970 to protect Egypt from the annual flooding of the Nile, the second-largest river in the world.
You’ll then visit the unfinished granite obelisk dating back to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut. If it had been completed, it would have been the largest obelisk in ancient Egypt.
After leaving the obelisk, you’ll head to Agilkia Island, located between the old and new Aswan Dams. This is where the beautiful Philae Temple of the goddess Isis is located, one of the four sites where the myth of Isis, Osiris, and Horus takes place.
After the tour, you’ll be returned to your hotel in Aswan.
