Trace the footsteps of the Holy Family on their blessed journey from Jerusalem to Egypt. This sacred route combines spirituality, history, and heritage as you explore the most significant Christian sites in Egypt — from the Church of the Holy Virgin in Maadi, where the Holy Family boarded a boat on the Nile, to the Monastery of the Holy Virgin in Al Qusiya, where they are believed to have stayed for over three years. You’ll also visit Wadi Natroun, Old Cairo, and other sacred landmarks steeped in faith and tradition.

Day 1: Arrive in Egypt

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative, then transferred by private air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

 
 

Day 2: Samanoud & Sakha

After breakfast, travel to Samanoud, located on the Damietta branch of the Nile, where a church commemorates the resting place of the Holy Family. Continue to Sakha, another site believed to have been visited by the Holy Family and known for its strong Christian heritage in the Middle Ages. Return to Cairo for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Wadi Natroun

Today, enjoy an excursion to Wadi Natroun, a desert valley said to have been blessed by Christ. Visit three of its ancient monasteries, which still flourish today as centers of Coptic monasticism. Return to Cairo and overnight.

Day 4: Churches of Cairo

After breakfast, visit Matariya, where you’ll see the Holy Well and the Sacred Tree — both associated with the Holy Family’s stay in Cairo. Continue to Old Cairo, visiting the Fortress of Babylon, the Hanging Church, St. Sergius Church, and St. George Church — all sites deeply connected to the Holy Family’s journey. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 5: Cairo – Minya

After breakfast, visit the Church of the Holy Virgin in Maadi, on the Nile’s banks south of Cairo, where the Holy Family boarded a boat to Upper Egypt. Continue by air-conditioned vehicle to Deir Al-Garnous near Maghagha, where the Monastery of Arganos now stands. Here, a well is believed to have provided water for Jesus and the Virgin Mary. Then visit the beautiful Church of Gabal Al-Teir, carved into the cliffside overlooking the Nile in Minya. Overnight in Minya.

Day 6: Minya

Today, visit the Monastery of the Holy Virgin at Al Qusiya, one of Egypt’s most sacred Christian sites. Tradition holds that Jesus and the Virgin Mary stayed here for over three years. Overnight in Minya.

Day 7: Return to Cairo

After breakfast, drive back to Cairo and check in at your hotel for your final night in Egypt. Meals: Breakfast

 
 
 

Day 8: Final Departure

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departure flight.
