You can enjoy a 4-day cruise on Lake Nasser, which includes visits to many of Aswan’s most prominent tourist attractions, such as: Abu Simbel Temple, Nubian Temple, Penut’s Tomb, etc.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Aswan and transferred to the shore near Abu Simbel to board a comfortable cruise ship. After settling in, you will be ready for the afternoon's activities. You will then embark on a guided tour of the Abu Simbel Temples, a timeless monument to Pharaoh Ramses II and his Queen Nefertari from the 13th century BC. Explore the massive rock temples, carved into the mountainside over 3,200 years ago and relocated to this site in the 1960s with the formation of Lake Nasser and the construction of the Aswan Dam. There will be time to rest and explore at your own pace before reuniting for dinner and a light and sound show at Abu Simbel. Watch in awe as the colossal statues of Ramses are illuminated by spectacular projections. After a busy day, we will return to the boat to relax and prepare for the next day.
We will sail to the ancient fortress of Qasr Ibrim. In addition to learning about the history of this strategically located fortress, we will visit the nearby Temple of Amadiya. This is the oldest Egyptian temple in Nubia, built in the 15th century BC. We will also stop at the Temple of Durr and the Tomb of Pennut, the mausoleum of a wealthy ruler during the reign of Ramesses IV, which conceals many unsolved mysteries... Have you been intrigued? At the end of our guided visits to these archaeological sites, we will return to the ship for lunch and continue sailing on Lake Nasser.
On the third day of your trip, we'll visit the ruins of Wadi el-Sebua, or the Valley of the Lions. You'll soon understand why as we approach the temples of this archaeological site. We'll delve into ancient Egyptian history with a visit to the Temples of El-Dekka and El-Mahraqa, two ancient sanctuaries where you'll learn all about the Egyptian deities to whom they were dedicated. We'll conclude this day by enjoying delicious cuisine on board our cruise ship as we sail toward Aswan.
We'll have breakfast while watching the stunning sunrise over the Aswan Dam. We'll then disembark to explore the Kalabsha Temple, the largest Egyptian temple to be relocated and one of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. We'll explore the hidden secrets of various areas of the complex, such as the Qartasi Temple. At the end of our guided tour, we'll transfer you to your hotel in Aswan, or, if you prefer, we can transfer you to Aswan Airport.
